Salem (4 October 2024): Tamil Nadu Government alloted ₹9.71 crores for development of Yercaud. Also TamilNadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) invited tenders for development of Tourism in Yercaud last month.
Also, as per the Legislative Assembly grant request for the year 2023-24, ₹9.71 crore funds have been allocated and an ordinance was issued by the tourism department last July.
Redevelopment Plans for Yercaud
Pagoda Point:
Yercaud Pagoda Point, various tourism development works including entrance ramp, retail shops, sanitary complex parking lots, footpath, drinking water will be taken up soon at the cost of ₹1.42 crores

Killiyur Falls
In Killiyur Falls, various tourism development works including parking lots, footpaths, sanitary complexes and security rooms are also to be carried out soon at the cost of ₹78.61 lakhs.

Anna Park Roundabout Junction
Bautification of footpaths, street lights, guide banners and other tourist facilities will soon be undertaken at a cost of ₹2.54 crores in the area of Roundabout Ondikkadai Junction Road near Anna Park to attract tourists.

Lady’s Seat View Point
On the lady’s view point, entrance ramp, retail shops, sanitary complex facilities, restaurant, drinking water facilities are to be taken up at the cost of ₹1.13 Crores.

Eco Park & Lake Shore
For development of Eco Park and lake shore, Construction of a connecting bridge from the boat house to the eco park, footpath near the boat house and parking lot are to be carried out at an estimated cost of ₹1.94 crores.

Hotel TamilNadu – Yercaud
Tamilnadu Hotel in Yercaud will be renovated at the cost of ₹1.30 crores.

DPR for some other projects
Floating Restaurant
Feasibility of setting up a floating restaurant at the boat house at Yercaud will also be explored. An expert committee has conducted a study for this. Once the report is available, action will be taken.

3D Display Technology
In order to provide new experiences to the tourists visiting Yercaud, the possibility of setting up a water-based audio-visual display with ‘3D’ display technology at the boathouse has been studied with public and private participation.
